This declaration follows considerable speculation regarding his intentions and was formalised on Tuesday, 21 April, in Kinshasa.
Alongside Mosengo Omba, multiple candidates have entered the race for the leadership of the Congolese football governing body. Notable figures competing against him include Shabani Nonda, a prominent former Congolese striker, and Azis Makukula.
