Anthony Mandrea has been ruled out of the World Cup with the Algerian national team, Les Fennecs. The goalkeeper suffered an injury during training with his club, Caen, approximately ten days ago.
The nature of Mandrea’s injury is serious, requiring him to undergo shoulder surgery. As a result, he will be unable to return to action in time for the tournament.
This development poses a challenge for Algeria’s manager, Vladimir Petković, who will need to reassess his squad and find a suitable replacement before the World Cup begins next June in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
