Enzo Maresca may be in line for a managerial role next season as Napoli prepares for a potential shift in leadership. The club is reportedly concerned about the future of current coach Antonio Conte.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Napoli’s management recently engaged in preliminary discussions with Maresca, the former Chelsea manager, who is 46 years old. This meeting occurred in London, where Maresca is currently based.
Sources indicate that Napoli is acutely aware of the risks associated with Conte’s possible departure. Although Conte’s contract extends until 2027, it remains uncertain if he will renew his deal by the end of the season, leaving the door open for Maresca to step in as head coach.
Maresca is currently a free agent after his dismissal from Chelsea in January 2023. Napoli is currently positioned third in Serie A, boasting 66 points from 33 matches.
