Barcelona‘s sporting director, Deco, is actively seeking to bolster the team’s defensive lineup. Recent reports indicate that Deco held a meeting yesterday with the agent of Jon Martín, a center-back from Real Sociedad. The focus of the discussion was on Martín’s development, particularly as he has been making significant strides in La Liga at just 20 years old.
Despite interest in Martín, FC Barcelona remains primarily focused on securing Alessandro Bastoni, who is the club’s top transfer target. Negotiations with the Italian defender are reportedly at an advanced stage, with efforts underway to finalize the deal.
Jon Martín is regarded as a promising alternative, and his candidacy could gain traction should discussions with Bastoni not proceed as planned. This season, Martín has made 27 appearances in all competitions for Real Sociedad, netting one goal during La Liga’s 30th round match against Levante.
