Liverpool striker Alexander Isak marked a significant achievement in the Premier League‘s 34th round by scoring the opening goal in the match against Crystal Palace, leading to a 3-1 victory for his team. This goal has brought his total to 19 matches in which he has scored the first goal since the beginning of the 2022/23 season.
With this milestone, Isak has matched his teammate Mohamed Salah in the tally of opening goals. They are now both behind only Erling Haaland, who tops the chart with 37 matches where he has opened the scoring, and Ollie Watkins, who has achieved this 21 times.
This goal was particularly noteworthy as it marks Isak’s first since December, when he last found the net against Tottenham. Following that match, Isak sustained a serious injury but returned to full fitness at the beginning of April.
