Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is under consideration to become the new head coach of Burnley, pending the future of current manager Scott Parker. According to journalist Alan Nixon, the club’s management is focusing on the 45-year-old tactician following a disappointing season that culminated in relegation from the Premier League.
A decision regarding Parker’s position remains pending as discussions continue within the club. Sources indicate that Gerrard is keen on returning to coaching, having previously managed Saudi side Al-Ettifaq before parting ways in January 2025. His managerial experience also includes tenures at Rangers and Aston Villa.
Burnley’s relegation was confirmed after a 0-1 defeat to Manchester City, marking the club’s third drop from the top flight in recent years. The board now faces the pressing task of strategizing to bring the team back to the Premier League as quickly as possible.
