Manchester United is reportedly looking to strengthen its defense with the potential acquisition of Alejandro Balde, a 22-year-old left-back from Barcelona‘s academy.
Citing a report from TEAMtalk, the club’s management is preparing to negotiate with Barcelona, who are under financial pressure to offload players to balance their budget and reduce the wage bill.
Barcelona has set a minimum asking price of €50 million for Balde, a fee that is considered manageable for Manchester United. Balde has emerged as a key player this season, making 38 appearances and providing three assists for the Catalan club.
With his current contract running until 2028, Balde’s market value is estimated at €55 million, according to Transfermarkt. This potential move could represent a significant milestone in his career.
