Arsenal were eliminated by PSG in the 2024-25 Champions League semifinals. We revisit the last time they won a trophy.
Arsenal has been eliminated from the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League after losing 2-1 to PSG in their second leg match in Paris (3-1 on aggregate). The Gunners were aiming to reach their first Champions League final since 2006, which could have put them on the doors to add an historic title.
In that sense, Arsenal’s most recent trophy came in August 2023, when they won the FA Community Shield. The Gunners defeated Manchester City in a penalty shootout after a 1–1 draw in regulation time.
During the match, Leandro Trossard scored in stoppage time when his shot bounced off a defender and went into the net, canceling out Cole Palmer’s earlier goal. Arsenal went on to win 4–1 on penalties at Wembley Stadium. It was the club’s 17th Community Shield title.
Before that, Arsenal’s last major domestic trophy was the FA Cup in the 2019–20 season. Under Mikel Arteta, who had taken over midway through the campaign, Arsenal beat Chelsea 2–1 in the final thanks to a brace from captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. That victory marked the club’s 14th FA Cup title, the most in the competition’s history.

While the club has not yet ended its Premier League title drought, which dates back to the 2003–04 “Invincibles” season, the club could end this season in second place, trailing behind champions Liverpool, with only two matches left.
Arsenal are still looking for their first Champions League title
While the team wasn’t able to qualify for the Champions League final, it was the first time that the team has reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2009 after a commanding 5-1 aggregate win over Real Madrid in the quarter-finals.
Arsenal have made just one appearance in a UEFA Champions League final. That came during the 2005–06 campaign, when they went up against Barcelona at the Stade de France in Paris. Sol Campbell put Arsenal ahead, but the team eventually fell 2–1 after late goals from Samuel Eto’o and Juliano Belletti.
