Portuguese football club Porto has finalized the permanent signing of 26-year-old Polish defender Jakub Kiwior, who had previously been on loan from Arsenal. The club’s management expressed satisfaction with Kiwior’s performances, prompting them to activate his buyout clause.
Details: The transfer deal amounts to €17 million in guaranteed payments, with an additional €5 million potentially available through various performance-related bonuses. Arsenal will also benefit financially from the agreement, as it includes a clause granting them €2 million from any future resale of Kiwior.
Kiwior has signed a long-term contract with Porto that extends until June 30, 2030. To deter interest from other top clubs, a significant €70 million release clause has been included in his contract.
This season, Kiwior made 38 appearances for Porto, contributing two assists and playing a crucial role in the team’s success in clinching the Portuguese league title.
