The winner of this year’s Marc-Vivien Foé Award will be announced on 11 May. This accolade, awarded since 2009 by RFI and France 24, recognizes the best African player of the season playing in France’s Ligue 1.
For 2023, the award is set to be claimed by either a Senegalese or Malian player, as all three finalists hail from these countries. The candidates are Lamine Camara and Moussa Niakhate from Senegal, and Mamadou Sangaré from Mali.
Each finalist has made significant contributions to their teams in Ligue 1 this season, aiming to succeed last year’s winner, Achraf Hakimi.
