Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde has issued an official statement denying rumors surrounding a violent altercation. The player explained that his recent visit to the hospital was due to an accident that occurred during a heated discussion with a teammate, where he accidentally struck his head on a table, resulting in a cut on his forehead.

Valverde emphasized that both he and his teammate had not engaged in any physical confrontation; the incident was purely a reaction to the heightened stress of the moment. He described the situation as an unfortunate accident stemming from a minor argument.

“Today, we had another disagreement. During the argument, I accidentally hit my head on the table, which caused a small cut on my forehead. It just required a routine hospital visit. At no point did my teammate hit me, and I did not hit him either. This was a total accident, the culmination of a pointless argument.”

In his statement, Valverde conveyed that his emotional response was largely driven by frustration over a challenging season. The disappointment of exiting the Champions League and the sense that the season had been largely unproductive weighed heavily on him. He also expressed concerns about “informants” within the team who he claims exaggerate minor issues and share confidential information, contributing to a culture of scandal.

“In a normal dressing room, things like this happen and are usually resolved internally, without becoming public. Clearly, someone here is spreading rumors. In a trophyless season, when Real are always under the spotlight, every little thing is blown out of all proportion.”

Valverde concluded his statement with an apology to fans and teammates, noting that Real Madrid remains his top priority. He expressed regret over having to miss the next match due to medical protocols.

“I’m truly sorry. This situation hurts me because Real Madrid is one of the most important things in my life. More than anyone, it pains me that because of medical decisions, I won’t be able to play in the next match. I’m at the club’s disposal and ready to accept any disciplinary decision,” he finished.
