Uruguayan striker Darwin Núñez is reportedly on the brink of leaving Al-Hilal, less than a year after joining the Saudi club. Reports from The Mirror suggest that both Núñez and Al-Hilal have reached an agreement to terminate his contract at the end of the current season.

Once he departs, Núñez is expected to become a free agent, a status that Premier League clubs are keen to take advantage of. Notable interest has been expressed by Newcastle and Chelsea, who are closely monitoring the developments surrounding the striker.

Núñez’s initial tenure at Al-Hilal showed promise; however, the situation shifted dramatically following the arrival of Karim Benzema during the winter transfer window. Due to squad restrictions on foreign players, Núñez has not featured in the lineup since February.

According to Pro League regulations, clubs are permitted to register only eight foreign players born before 2003, a rule that has significantly impacted Núñez’s standing at Al-Hilal and is a primary factor in his impending exit.
