Senegal is making significant preparations to host the 2032 Africa Cup of Nations, aiming to bring the continental tournament back to its shores for the first time since 1992. The announcement was made by Khady Diene Gaye, the Minister for Youth and Sport, during a session with members of the National Assembly of Senegal, as reported by local media.
Senegal is indeed preparing its bid dossier in order to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2032. However, the dossier will not be submitted in 2032. That date refers instead to the year envisaged for hosting the competition in our country, the minister explained.
If successful, this will mark the second time Senegal has hosted the Africa Cup of Nations, occurring forty years after the country’s first hosting of the event.
Senegal’s bid will be supported by its existing sports infrastructure, including the Stade Abdoulaye-Wade and the Stade Léopold-Sédar-Senghor, with additional facilities planned to enhance its hosting capabilities.
