Manchester United is poised to solidify its coaching structure by extending the contract of head coach Michael Carrick.
The decision comes from the club’s management, according to The Athletic journalist Laurie Whitwell on his X social media page. Carrick, who is 44 years old, is expected to finalize a new contract shortly.
Reports suggest that the new agreement will keep Carrick at the helm until 2028, with an additional one-year extension option. Notably, Carrick will retain his current coaching staff and may also welcome set-piece specialist Andreas Georgson, who has expressed interest in returning.
Since assuming the role in January after Ruben Amorim’s departure, Carrick has led Manchester United through 15 matches, achieving 10 wins, 3 draws, and just 2 losses.
