USM Alger has secured the CAF Confederation Cup title under the leadership of Senegalese coach Lamine Ndiaye, marking a significant achievement in African football. The team triumphed over Zamalek SC in the final held on Saturday, 16 May, 2026.

This victory is a testament to Ndiaye’s skill and strategic prowess, reinforcing his legacy in the sport. He previously led TP Mazembe to a Champions League title in 2010, and his recent win makes him one of the few African managers to accomplish a continental double.

Ndiaye’s success positions him alongside notable figures in African football, including Faouzi Benzarti, Cecil Jones Attuquayefio, Houssine Ammouta, and Moine Chaabani. He now becomes the fifth African football manager to achieve this remarkable feat.
