Dean Huijsen, a 21-year-old centre-back for Real Madrid, may not secure a spot in Spain’s squad for the upcoming World Cup. Reports from AS Diario indicate that La Roja’s head coach, Luis de la Fuente, has expressed doubts about the defender’s readiness for international play.
Currently, only Aymeric Laporte and Pau Cubarsí are considered essential in the defense, leaving two additional spots available. A competitive selection process is underway, with Huijsen competing against several other players including Pubill, Jon Martin, Mosquera, Le Normand, Eric Garcia, and Vivian for those coveted positions.
This season, Huijsen has made a significant contribution to Real Madrid, participating in 38 matches across all competitions. During this time, he has scored two goals and provided two assists, showcasing his potential on the field.
