A new chapter in Lukas’s life.
The Polish club Górnik Zabrze has officially announced that its legendary forward, Lukas Podolski, has taken over as the club’s president. The 40-year-old player, who joined the team in 2021 as a free agent, has become a significant figure in the club’s history.
Throughout his time at Górnik Zabrze, Podolski has played 134 matches, scoring 25 goals and providing 22 assists. His impact on the team has solidified his status as a local icon.
Podolski currently holds a contract with Górnik Zabrze that is set to expire at the end of the season. It remains unclear whether he will choose to retire or continue his dual role as a player-owner.
As it stands, Górnik Zabrze is positioned in 2nd place in the Polish Ekstraklasa and is in contention for a spot in the Champions League next season.
