Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has made history in English football by being named the Premier League Player of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign.
At 31 years old, the Portuguese midfielder excelled in his role, becoming the driving force behind the Red Devils. Over the course of the season, he played 34 matches, scoring 8 goals and providing an impressive 20 assists, falling just short of the all-time single-season assist record.
In the competition for this accolade, Fernandes outperformed a number of notable players including Gabriel Magalhães, Declan Rice, and David Raya from Arsenal, as well as Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest, Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo from Manchester City, and Igor Thiago from Brentford.
Atalanta midfielder Ederson is set to join Manchester United.
