Arsenal has once again fallen short in their pursuit of Europe’s most prestigious club trophy, suffering defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final. This latest setback has added several unwanted statistical milestones to the club’s history.

In the aftermath of this loss, Arsenal updated their unfortunate record in the tournament, now holding a total of 226 matches in the European Cup and Champions League without a single victory. This places them at the bottom of the list of clubs that have ever participated in the competition.

Additionally, Mikel Arteta’s team recorded one of the most striking possession statistics in Champions League final history. According to data from Opta, Arsenal averaged just 24.7 percent possession, marking the lowest figure for any team in a Champions League final since comprehensive statistics began in the 2003/04 season. This figure is also Arsenal’s lowest in any match under Arteta, even in situations where they played with fewer players.
