Senegal faced a disappointing defeat in their first international friendly ahead of the World Cup, losing 3-2 to the United States in Charlotte. Despite a strong performance from Sadio Mane, Pape Thiaw’s team struggled to maintain control from the start of the match.

The United States took an early lead, with Sergino Dest scoring in the 7th minute, followed by Christian Pulisic, who doubled the advantage in the 20th minute to make it 2-0. Senegal, however, managed to respond just before halftime, with Mane narrowing the gap in the 44th minute to 2-1.

After the interval, Mane continued to shine, equalizing for Senegal in the 52nd minute. Nevertheless, Team USA regained the lead through Florian Balogoun, who scored in the 63rd minute, bringing the score to 3-2. Senegal was unable to respond further before the final whistle.
