Former professional football player Andrés Iniesta has embarked on a new chapter in his career as a manager. Today, UAE club Gulf United officially announced his appointment as the club’s new head coach.

At 42 years old, Iniesta’s new role marks his first experience as head coach, following his time as an advisor at Helsingør and Albacete. Specific details regarding the terms of his contract are expected to be disclosed later. Currently, Gulf United competes in the UAE First Division and is placed 10th after 28 matches.

Iniesta is widely known for his stellar playing career, having represented prestigious clubs such as Barcelona, Vissel Kobe, and Emirates Club. He announced his retirement from professional football in the summer of 2024.
