Former Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas has weighed in on a long-debated question regarding footballing prowess between two icons of the sport: Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

In a recent interview, the 45-year-old Casillas reflected on his experiences against the two players during his career. Although he faced Cristiano Ronaldo at the international level with Portugal, he specified that he found Messi to be the greater challenge.

“I never had to play against Cristiano at club level, although I did face him with the Portugal national team. But I think it was tougher against Messi,” Casillas admitted.
