The German national team has encountered a significant setback just before the commencement of the World Cup. Reports from BILD indicate that Bayern Munich‘s young talent, Lennart Karl, is set to miss the tournament due to injury. The promising Bundesliga player was injured during the national team’s final training session in Chicago, thwarting his aspirations of a World Cup debut.

An MRI scan conducted at a hospital confirmed that the 18-year-old attacking midfielder has suffered a torn muscle bundle in his left thigh. This injury will prevent him from participating in the highly anticipated tournament.

In response to the injury, the German Football Association (DFB) swiftly called up RB Leipzig midfielder Assan Ouedraogo to replace the injured Karl, ensuring that the team can adjust ahead of the World Cup.
