Tunisia’s head coach, Sabri Lamouchi, has issued an apology to fans following a dismal 5-0 loss to Belgium in the final warm-up match ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The defeat has raised concerns about the team’s preparedness for the upcoming tournament.
In the match, Belgium showcased their skill and dominance with goals from Leandro Trossard, Charles De Ketelaere, Kevin De Bruyne, Dodi Lukebakio, and Nicolas Raskin, leaving the Carthage Eagles struggling to find their footing.
Post-match, Lamouchi did not shy away from expressing his disappointment, calling the performance a “nightmare.” He acknowledged the embarrassment felt over the team’s display and conveyed a heartfelt message to the fans.
”I came to make people dream, but today I am making no one dream. The match was a nightmare. There is nothing positive to take from this game. Obviously, I am dissatisfied with my team. A message to the fans? Honestly, I am just ashamed.”
