The Algerian Football Federation has confirmed the extension of head coach Vladimir Petković’s contract, ensuring his leadership of the national team until 2028. This announcement was made on Sunday via the federation’s official X account, emphasizing “stability and confidence in the work accomplished” under Petković’s guidance.
Since taking over in February 2024, Petković has led the team to an impressive record of 21 wins, four draws, and just three defeats across 28 matches. His tenure has been pivotal in securing Algeria’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Algeria is set to begin its World Cup journey in Group J, facing Argentina on June 17, followed by matches against Jordan and Austria.
