Olivier Giroud, the seasoned forward, continues his professional career as Lille OSC has officially announced the extension of his contract. The 39-year-old striker, who has been a key player for the team, will remain with Lille until at least the end of the 2026/27 season.
Giroud joined Lille in July 2025 as a free agent following his departure from Los Angeles FC. Since his arrival, he has made 44 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals and providing 1 assist, solidifying his value to the team.
His tenure at Lille comes on the heels of a successful season, where they finished third in Ligue 1 and earned a spot in the upcoming Champions League. With Giroud still active in professional football, he stands as one of the oldest players competing at this level.
