The Malian national football team has appointed Anthony Da Silva as its new head coach, following his official signing on 8 June. Da Silva, a Portuguese tactician, will oversee the team under a three-year contract, which outlines specific goals for the upcoming seasons.

Baba Cisset, the president of the Malian Football Federation, confirmed the appointment and emphasized the clearly defined objectives set for the coach. Da Silva is tasked with qualifying Mali for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations and ensuring the team reaches at least the semi-finals of the tournament.

In addition to these regional goals, Da Silva is also expected to secure Mali’s qualification for the next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations and to guide the team to the final. Furthermore, he must aim to qualify Mali for the FIFA World Cup 2030.
