Further tests have confirmed that Abde Ezzalzouli has sustained a moderate knee ligament sprain. The injury occurred on Sunday, 7 June, during Morocco’s friendly match against Norway, raising concerns about his availability for the World Cup, which is set to begin on 11 June.
While initial fears that he might miss the entire tournament have been alleviated, Ezzalzouli will not be able to participate from the outset. Medical examinations indicate that he is expected to be sidelined for a period of two to four weeks, suggesting he is likely to miss the group stage.
Despite this setback, the medical staff of the Atlas Lions remain optimistic and are committed to doing everything possible to ensure Ezzalzouli’s recovery in the event that Morocco progresses past the group stage into the round of 32.
