The Brazil national football team encountered rigorous security measures upon their arrival in the United States for the 2026 World Cup. According to reports from Jornal O Globo, the five-time world champions underwent a comprehensive immigration control process, with no exceptions made for the players’ superstar status.
The US border officials, in a show of maximum rigor, subjected the entire “Seleção” delegation, including top players, coaching staff, and support personnel, to strict security checks. Each member was required to pass through metal detectors, and their luggage and personal items were thoroughly scanned. They were also asked to remove their shoes for in-depth inspection, just like any other traveler.
Despite the discomfort and unexpected hours-long delays at the airport terminal, the Brazilian delegation complied with all demands from the host nation. The situation led to astonishment among the South American giants, who were unaccustomed to such extensive scrutiny.
