Morocco faces a significant setback ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as key players Nayef Aguerd and Abdessamad Ezzalzouli have been officially ruled out due to injuries.

The duo has been removed from Morocco’s final World Cup squad just days before the Atlas Lions are set to begin their campaign against Brazil. Ezzalzouli suffered a knee ligament sprain during a recent friendly match against Norway, while Aguerd is sidelined with a groin injury.

In light of these injuries, Morocco has activated their standby list, calling up defender Marwane Saadane and winger Amine Sbai as replacements.
