Japan has been compelled to make rapid adjustments to their World Cup roster following an injury setback. Wataru Endo, a 33-year-old midfielder for Liverpool, will not be participating in the tournament after leaving the national team camp due to his condition.
Details: Endo’s injury has been deemed too severe for the coaching staff to consider him for recovery during the World Cup. In his absence, 26-year-old forward Shuto Machino of Borussia Mönchengladbach will step in to replace him.
Japan finds themselves in Group F for the tournament, where they will compete against Tunisia, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
