The Democratic Republic of Congo national football team has arrived in the United States, culminating their preparations for their first match against Portugal set for 17 June. Following a training camp in Liège, Belgium, and a brief stay in Málaga, Spain, the team landed in the U.S. on 11 June. This arrival coincides with the official kickoff of the World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, which began on 11 June with a match between South Africa and Mexico.
The Leopards will face Portugal in their opening match and subsequently take on Colombia on 24 June and Uzbekistan on 28 June. This tournament marks a significant return for the DR Congo, as it participates in the FIFA World Cup after a 52-year hiatus.
