ലോകകപ്പ് ഫുട്ബോൾ മത്സരങ്ങളിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കാൻ കാനഡയിലേക്ക് യാത്ര തിരിക്കുന്ന ഘാനൻ മിഡ്ഫീൽഡർ തോമസ് പാർട്ടിക്ക് അനുമതി നിഷേധിച്ചു. കാനഡയിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ലോകകപ്പിലെ തങ്ങളുടെ ആദ്യ മത്സരത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കാൻ താരത്തിന് കാനഡയിലേക്ക് പ്രവേശിക്കാൻ കഴിയില്ലെന്ന് ഫിഫ സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു.
ജൂൺ 17 ബുധനാഴ്ച പനാമയ്ക്കെതിരെ നടക്കുന്ന മത്സരത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്നതിനായി അമേരിക്കയിലെ ബോസ്റ്റണിലുള്ള ഘാനയുടെ ടീം ബേസ് ക്യാമ്പിൽ നിന്ന് കാനഡയിലേക്ക് പോകാൻ തോമസ് പാർട്ടിക്ക് കഴിയില്ലെന്നും, കനേഡിയൻ സർക്കാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വിസ അപേക്ഷ നിരസിച്ചതായും ഫിഫ വക്താവ് ടോക്ക് സ്പോർട്ടിനോട് (talkSport) വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

FIFA have confirmed that Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey will not be allowed to enter Canada to represent his country in their opening World Cup match.
“FIFA can confirm that player Thomas Partey will be unable to travel from Ghana’s Team Base Camp in Boston, USA, to Canada for their first match against Panama on Wednesday, 17 June, as his visa application has been refused by the Canadian government,” a spokesperson told talkSport.
“FIFA is not involved in the immigration processes of host countries, including the adjudication of visas.
“As with previous FIFA events, the host government ultimately determines who receives a visa and is admitted into the country,” the statement ends.
Partey, formerly of Arsenal and now of Villarreal, may remain in Boston until Ghana plays their World Cup matches in the United States.
