AC Milan has identified its top candidate for the vacant head coach position, with Rúben Amorim emerging as the priority choice after renewed discussions, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport. The decision comes as the club undergoes a significant overhaul following a lackluster season.

The Portuguese coach has surpassed other contenders, becoming the main pick for the Rossoneri as they seek long-term stability under the guidance of club owner Gerry Cardinale. Milan’s management is reportedly looking to implement a new tactical identity focused on intense pressing, a high defensive line, and rapid ball recovery.

Sources indicate that the club has already prepared a proposal for Amorim that includes a two-year contract with an option for a third season. This move signals Milan’s commitment to establishing a newer direction in their gameplay and overall strategy.

Other candidates for the position included Matthias Jaissle, currently at Al-Ahli, and Álvaro Arbeloa, who recently departed from the Real Madrid system.
