Artan was denied entry into the United States after an extensive 11-hour questioning session by immigration officials at Miami International Airport. This unfortunate development kept him from participating in the tournament.
In a show of solidarity, FIFA has confirmed that Artan will still receive his complete tournament payment, despite not having been able to take the field during the competition.
