ലോകകപ്പ് ഫുട്ബോൾ ടൂർണമെന്റിനുള്ള ഇംഗ്ലണ്ട് ടീമിലേക്ക് ചെൽസി പ്രതിരോധതാരം ട്രെവോ ചലോബയെ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയതായി എഫ്.എ (The FA) ഔദ്യോഗികമായി സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു.
ഞായറാഴ്ച നടന്ന മത്സരത്തിനിടെ പരിക്ക് പറ്റിയ ന്യൂകാസിൽ താരം ടിനോ ലിവ്രാമെന്റോയ്ക്ക് പകരമായാണ് ചലോബ 26 അംഗ ടീമിൽ ഇടംപിടിക്കുന്നത്. കാൽവിരലിനേറ്റ പരിക്കിനെത്തുടർന്നാണ് ലിവ്രാമെന്റോയ്ക്ക് ടീമിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്തുപോകേണ്ടി വന്നത്.
ചെൽസിയിൽ പരിശീലകൻ തോമസ് ടൂхеലിന് കീഴിൽ സെൻട്രൽ ഡിഫൻഡറായാണ് ചലോബ പ്രധാനമായും കളിക്കാറുള്ളത്. എങ്കിലും റൈറ്റ്-ബാക്ക് സ്ഥാനത്തും കളിച്ചുള്ള പരിചയം താരത്തിനുണ്ട്.
ഡാളസിൽ വെച്ച് നടക്കുന്ന ക്രൊയേഷ്യയ്ക്കെതിരായ ആദ്യ ഗ്രൂപ്പ് മത്സരത്തിൽ ചലോബയ്ക്ക് കളിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കില്ല. ടീം കൻസാസ് സിറ്റിയിലെ ബേസ് ക്യാമ്പിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങിയെത്തിയ ശേഷം താരം സഹതാരങ്ങൾക്കൊപ്പം ചേരും.
The FA have officially confirmed that Trevoh Chalobah has received a late England call-up for the World Cup.
The Chelsea defender will replace Tino Livramento in the 26-man squad after the Newcastle full-back picked up a calf injury on Sunday.
Chalobah is primarily a centre-back, featuring there under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea, but has experience playing at right-back as well.
He will not be able to participate in the opening match of the group stage against Croatia in Dallas and will instead link up with the rest of the squad after their return to the base in Kansas City.
