The Spanish football community is closely monitoring the status of Lamine Yamal as he continues to struggle with an injury. The 18-year-old winger’s participation in upcoming matches remains uncertain.

The head coach of Spain, Konrad De la Fuente, addressed questions from the media regarding Yamal’s involvement in the second group stage match of the World Cup against Saudi Arabia. De la Fuente noted that the situation with Yamal is complicated but expressed optimism about his potential return to the pitch on Sunday.

“We need to assess Lamine Yamal’s situation before our next match against Saudi Arabia,” said De la Fuente.

When probed about the possibility of Yamal playing for around 45 minutes, De la Fuente indicated that this was a feasible expectation.

“Of course, something like that,” De la Fuente replied.

In Spain’s recent match against Cape Verde, Yamal was substituted in during the 71st minute but was unable to influence the game’s outcome, resulting in a 0-0 draw. The team’s historical performance shows a worrying trend, with Spain winning only three FIFA World Cup matches in the last 16 years.
