Ibrahim Diabate, the Ivorian striker, will not be retained by Deportivo Alaves following the conclusion of his loan spell in Spain. He is set to return to Sweden to rejoin his original club, GAIS.
Having joined Deportivo Alaves in February 2026 from GAIS, Diabate has made a total of 10 appearances in the 2025–2026 La Liga season, scoring two goals. Notably, he found the back of the net against FC Barcelona on 13 May 2026, marking a significant moment in his brief tenure in the Spanish league.
Deportivo Alaves announced Diabate’s departure on 19 June, confirming that he will be rejoining GAIS, where he remains under contract until December 2028.
