The governing body of Algerian football has publicly criticized the officiating during the recent World Cup match against Argentina. The game, held on June 17 in Group J, ended in a contentious 3-0 defeat for Algeria, sparking outrage among fans and officials alike.

In response to the controversial decisions made by Polish referee Szymon Marciniak, the Algerian Football Federation has announced plans to lodge a formal complaint with FIFA. They claim that these officiating choices had a significant impact on the outcome of the match.

Reports indicate that the Algerian officials are particularly focusing on a foul committed by Lionel Messi against defender Aïssa Mandi. Video evidence circulating on social media appears to show Messi making contact with Mandi’s calf, prompting calls from some supporters for a red card to be issued.

Additionally, the federation is raising concerns about an incident involving Alexis Mac Allister, who allegedly elbowed Ibrahim Maza in the face during the match. These incidents have fueled dissatisfaction among Algerian football stakeholders regarding the officiating standards in such a crucial tournament.
