As Ivory Coast prepares to face Curaçao on Thursday, 25 June, in their final group stage match, the Ivorian manager has reiterated the team’s aspirations for the tournament. The Ivory Coast Elephants are looking to secure their place in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup, currently sitting on three points following their 1–0 victory over Ecuador in their opening match.
The match against Curaçao is scheduled for 8 pm GMT. A win would guarantee Ivory Coast’s progression to the knockout stages, a significant achievement as they aim to advance in Group E.
When asked about the importance of qualifying for the next round, manager Emerse Faé expressed that the team’s ambitions extend beyond merely advancing. “For the team, and for the country, it would be a source of pride to get through the first round. But I think we’re more ambitious than that,” he stated.
Faé emphasized the team’s focus on long-term goals: “We’ll continue to look to the future and try to achieve the goal we’ve set ourselves, which is to go as far as possible in this competition.”
