Iran has expressed discontent regarding upcoming actions related to its World Cup match against Egypt.
Both Egypt and Iran have reached out to FIFA concerning the organization of their forthcoming match. The Iranian Football Federation has officially requested that FIFA impose a ban on any advertising or events associated with “LGBTQ+” themes during the scheduled match.
Initial plans had designated the match as a “Pride Match,” aimed at supporting LGBTQ+ ideology. However, representatives from both teams have advocated for a ban on LGBTQ+ displays or initiatives at the stadium, citing religious and personal beliefs.
The match between Egypt and Iran is set to take place at Lumen Field this Saturday.
