Orlando Pirates midfielder Oswin Appollis reflected on Bafana Bafana’s recent World Cup exit, acknowledging that the team’s efforts fell short despite their determination. The national side lost 1-0 to Canada in the Round of 32 match held at the Los Angeles Stadium.
Appollis stated that the team gave their all during the match but ultimately could not secure a victory. “It was a difficult game today although I think we managed to create chances, but congratulations to them. We did our best, we wanted to win but it wasn’t our day,” he remarked following the loss.
The midfielder admitted he had two significant opportunities to score but was unable to convert them. “It was an amazing tournament, and I felt like I could’ve done more but these things happen, you know. It’s just painful to concede so late, but we will continue on,” Appollis added.
