AC Milan enjoyed a goal-fest as they thrashed the Australian club Perth Glory 9–0 in their final pre-season match at HBF Park in Perth, Australia, on Thursday afternoon.
Noah Okafor and Rafael Leão each scored two goals for the Rossoneri, while Filippo Terracciano, Christian Comotto, Samuel Chukwueze, Samuel Ricci and Yunus Musah each scored one.
Milan had already taken the lead after just four minutes. Slick play ended with Terracciano receiving the ball in the penalty box before firing a shot into the home goal.
The second goal came in the 23rd minute. A superb team move was finished off with an excellent shot from Okafor to make it 2–0.
Three minutes later, Milan extended their lead to 3–0. Jiménez’s cut-back into the penalty box was not cleared properly by the Perth Glory defender. Okafor successfully pounced on the rebound to score.
The home team conceded again in the 28th minute. This time, the goal came from a penalty after Comotto was fouled in the penalty area.
Comotto stepped up to take the penalty, kicking the ball into the centre of the goal that the Perth Glory goalkeeper could not stop. The score was now 4–0.
AC Milan further extended their lead after scoring a fifth goal in the 31^(st) minute. This time, Chukwueze got his name on the scoreboard with a powerful shot from outside the penalty box after an individual effort. The score was now 5–0.
Milan increased their lead to 6–0 early in the second half, in the 46^(th) minute to be precise. Leão received the ball and found himself alone with the goalkeeper.
The Portuguese striker sent the ball into the bottom right corner of Perth Glory’s goal.
The score became 7-0 in the 56th minute when Ricci scored with a shot from the edge of the penalty box.
Yunus Musah scored Milan’s eighth goal in the 80^(th) minute. He finished Mattia Liberali’s pass with a close-range shot.
Milan rounded off their goal-fest with Leão’s second goal in the 85^(th) minute, heading in from the penalty box.
