Wolverhampton announced the transfer of Jackson Chachua from Veroni in Italy. The 23-year-old Cameroonian right wing-back signed a five-year contract with the option of extending it by a further 12 months.
The 23-year-old footballer was born in Belgium and began his professional career at Charleroi, making his debut as one of 19 players and scoring his first assists and goals. In 2023, he decided to play for the Cameroon national team, making his debut in an emergency match against Cape Verde in 2024.
Before Veroni, Chachua arrived on loan, but quickly settled in the warehouse and was granted a permanent transfer. Last season, he played 43 matches for the club and national team, helping Verona secure their place in Serie A and playing a pivotal role in Cameroon’s qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Chachua became aware of his speed — he recorded the fastest performance in the 2024/25 Serie A season (36.3 km/year). The previous season, he scored two goals and provided three assists for his team.
