Aaron Ramsey’s move to Pumas is noted as a significant transfer in Mexican football, according to Mediotiempo. The Welsh midfielder, who has played for Arsenal and Juventus, said his choice was largely influenced by Efraín Juárez and discussions with the team’s coach before he signed.
“I spoke a lot with the coach before coming. I was excited about his achievements and the vision he has for Pumas,” Ramsey shared during his introduction.
The experienced midfielder pointed out that the club’s reputation made the decision straightforward. “Playing for a club like this, the biggest in Mexico, was an easy choice for me,” he noted.
Ramsey admitted he wasn’t very familiar with Pumas initially but reached out for insights and was intrigued by Liga MX’s competitiveness. “Honestly, I didn’t know much, but I was attracted to the fact that it is a quality, competitive league. From the games I’ve seen, Mexico has shown its quality, and we look forward to the challenge,” he stated.
He also mentioned that the club’s culture and family-oriented atmosphere were important factors in his decision. “I think it was the culture that drew me in. This is a place where people are dedicated, and players want to be part of the project. I want to live and be part of that,” he concluded.
