Palmeiras began training on Monday at the Football Academy with head coach Abel Ferreira back after his trip to Europe for personal reasons. The Portuguese manager conducted a practice session to prepare the team for their upcoming league match.
The training included activation exercises at the Excellence Center, power drills on the field, and positional work focusing on central and deep runs, as well as small-sided technical games.
A key moment was the return of Raphael Veiga, who participated as a neutral player while working on his fitness. “I’m happy to be back on the field. I was out for a while with pubic pain, which was tough as it limits you and causes stress. Coming back without pain, regaining strength, and improving mentally was important. No player wants to play in pain and rely on medication. I’m very motivated for this final stretch and 100% ready to help the team,” said the No. 23.
Meanwhile, Mauricio is following an individualized program due to lower back pain. The six players who were on international duty will return after their matches on Tuesday and will be available for the game against Internacional at Allianz Parque.
Palmeiras currently holds third place in the standings with 43 points, trailing Cruzeiro and Flamengo, who each have one game in hand.
