The 10th round of Serie A continued on Sunday night with a top-match showdown. At San Siro, AC Milan, starting in fourth place, faced AS Roma, who were in second. The Romans, organized in a 3-4-2-1 formation, highlighted their presence early on, but Cristante (1st), El Aynaoui (7th), and Ndicka (10th) failed to score. Struggling, Milan held on, while Dybala almost opened the scoring with a left-footed shot (17th). Despite being pressed by Roma, Milan took the lead unexpectedly. On a quick counter-attack, Saelemaekers set up Leao, who held off Ndicka before assisting Pavlovic for a perfect finish (1-0, 39th). Though dominated, Milan created two more opportunities just before half-time, but Nkunku (44th) and Fofana (45th) missed out on extending the lead.
Upon returning from the break, the match’s dynamics shifted entirely as Milan regained control. After an initial shot from Ricci (46th), Leao tested Svilar twice (48th, 49th). Shortly after, Nkunku hit the post with an unintentional chest shot (50th). Undeterred and initially struggling, Roma finally came alive in the last half-hour, but lacked precision in their final attempts. Leao was close to extending the lead, but Hermoso cleared it off the line (68th). In the closing minutes, a critical moment emerged when Fofana committed a handball in the box, conceding a penalty. However, Maignan saved the day for Milan by denying Dybala’s attempt (82nd). As a result (1-0), AS Roma dropped to fourth place, while AC Milan climbed to third, just behind Inter Milan and Napoli.
