AC Milan will face Hellas Verona at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday in Serie A.
The Rossoneri sit in second place with 32 points and can move to the top of the table with a win.
Massimiliano Allegri announced that Rafael Leao will miss Sunday’s match due to ongoing thigh discomfort. He has been an important player this season but has struggled with fitness issues.
Matteo Gabbia is also likely to miss out with a knee injury suffered in the match against Sassuolo. He is not expected to play against Verona or in the upcoming game against Cagliari. Koni De Winter is anticipated to partner Fikayo Tomori and Strahinja Pavlovic in defense.
Santiago Giménez is still recovering from an ankle injury, but progress indicates his return may be close.
Christopher Nkunku and Christian Pulisic will spearhead Milan’s attack with Leao absent. Pulisic has been performing well, scoring 7 goals in 10 Serie A matches, placing him among the top scorers.
Rafiq Belghali and Martin Frese are suspended for the match, while Belghali is unavailable due to national duty for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Jean Daniel Akpa-Akpro and Tomas Suslove are also ruled out due to injuries.
Domagoj Bradarić will not play due to a muscle injury, which further weakens Verona’s defense as they gear up to face Milan.
Milan has won four of their last six league games, with draws against Sassuolo and Parma.
They ended their last match with a 2-2 draw against Sassuolo, having lost a one-goal lead late in the game. However, they remain unbeaten since their loss on the league’s opening day.
Verona has improved lately, clinching wins against Fiorentina (2-1) and Atalanta (3-1) after a challenging stretch. These two victories are their only wins this season. They are currently in 18th place with 12 points from 15 matches.
AC Milan: Maignan; Tomori, De Winter, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Loftus-Cheek, Modric, Rabiot; Bartesaghi; Nkunku, Pulisic.
Hellas Verona: Montipo; Nunez, Nelsson, Bella; Valentini, Niasse, Gagliardini, Bernede, Al Musrati; Orban, Mosquera.
The match will be available on DAZN and Sky Sport (Italy). Fans can also stream the game through official Serie A services.
