Ademola Lookman has got into trouble again at Atalanta after missing pre-season training at the Zingonia training centre on Monday (4 May 2025). This absence marks a new chapter in the ongoing dispute between the player and the club as he attempts to force a transfer to Inter Milan.
According to various sources, Lookman was expected to train with his teammates, but failed to show up without notice. His relationship with Atalanta is reportedly at its lowest point and almost beyond repair.
The situation arose after Lookman posted a lengthy statement on Instagram accusing Atalanta of breaking promises, and announcing that he had officially requested a transfer. In the post, he openly expressed his disappointment with the club’s management.
Atalanta’s CEO, Luca Percassi, responded immediately, confirming that they had promised to sell Lookman if a suitable offer was received — provided that the interested club was not Italian, or even a fellow Serie A rival such as Inter Milan.
Now, Lookman’s absence from training is seen as an extreme measure that further highlights his determination to force a move. Meanwhile, Inter are reportedly ready to increase their offer for the player to €42 million plus €3 million in bonuses.
Lookman, who is under contract until June 2027, must now wait and see how Atalanta will respond to this mounting pressure.`
