After Miami, Barcelona Engages in Negotiations for a Match in Peru

Following their defeat in La Liga during the Clásico, FC Barcelona is continuing with plans for international friendly matches. After a recent unsuccessful tour in Miami against Villarreal, the Catalan club is in advanced discussions to play a match in Peru in December, with a lucrative financial offer between €7 and €8 million, according to Mundo Deportivo.

This opportunity comes after Barcelona had to cancel another friendly in Libya, scheduled for October 10, due to security concerns, and after the Miami setback cost the club approximately €6 million in revenue. Club president Joan Laporta has informed the team captains, along with Hansi Flick and Deco, about the intention to accept this proposal. The friendly match is expected to take place after the last league match of 2025, while Barcelona’s first official game in 2026 is set for January 3 or 4 against Espanyol.
